Goal
and Objectives
The primary
goal of this group is to show care and concern to in-patients and
rehabilitated patients and to make them aware that they are being
cared for - by the community and by Jardines. Through hospital visits
and by organizing various activities, the group aims to enhance
the contact of mentally ill and ex-mentally ill with the general
public to promote understanding and acceptance of those with mental
problems.
The Re-integration
Group has been and will continue to work closely with Castle Peak
Hospital, Kwai Chung Hospital, Heep Hong Society, Hong Chi Association,
New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, St. James Settlement
and other mental health agencies in order to achieve the goal.
In November
2003, the Re-integration Group launched the Job Placement Programme
by providing training opportunities to rehabilitated patients with
the aim to help them re-integrate into the society. The programme
started off within two Jardines business units as a pilot project.
On-the-job training is provided to the candidates referred by the
non-governmental organizations. It is hoped that they can benefit from the skills and
knowledge they acquired at Jardines in the long run.
