Job Training Programme
To promote the Job Training Programme to a wider range of staff, especially the frontline managers, the Jardine Ambassadors are working with the Occupational Therapy Department of Kwai Chung Hospital to conduct three half-day workshops in May, June and July 2008.
The Job Training Programme, introduced by the ambassadors in 2003, aims to provide training and employment opportunities within Jardines to rehabilitated individuals. Over the years, results were encouraging. Many of the trainees were able to find jobs in the open market; and some of the trainees have become permanent staff in the Jardines units. The Jardine Matheson Group was also awarded the 'Distinguished Employer Award' by the Social Welfare Department in 2006 in recognition of the success of the programme.
The workshop will partly be conducted by a psychiatrist together with a clinical psychologist on mental illness. They will answer questions relating to pharmacotherapy and the side effects of medication. The second half of the workshop will be run by occupational therapists. The ambassadors will also invite Jardines' managers and the ex-mentally ill to share their experience of this programme.

就業培訓計劃
為更多員工、尤其是前線工作人員介紹集團的就業培圳計劃,怡和親善大使與葵涌醫院的職業治療部將於二零零八年五月至七月期間,合辦有關「就業培訓計劃」的半日講座。
就業培訓計劃於二零零三年推出後得到各集團公司的支持,為精神病康復者提供培訓或短期合約職位,有部份學員更在完成培訓後獲其他僱主長期聘用。集團亦因此在二零零六年獲得社會福利署頒贈「熱心僱主榮譽獎」。
講座上半部由臨床心理學家及精神科醫生主講有關精神病的一般知識及藥物對精神病患者的影響。下半部會由職業治療師主講各項幫助精神病康復者的培訓及就業計劃。
