A Day Tour to Sai
Kung
On 4th December 2004 the Education & Prevention Group and Re-integration
Group jointly organized a one-day tour to Sai Kung for the patients
of Castle Peak Hospital. Together with 126 student advocates from
eight participating schools in the Health-In-Mind programme, 100
patients and carers from Castle Peak Hospital and 30 Jardine Ambassadors,
the big crowd started off early in the morning.
The purpose of this outing was twofold - students were given a chance to interact with people suffered from mental illness; and patients were allowed to come out from an enclosed area to see the world and meet people. "Respect, Understanding and Care" was what we aimed to achieve.
The first stop was Pak Tam Chung Country Park. Ben Keswick, Director of Jardine Matheson Ltd and Neil McNamara, member of the MINDSET Steering Committee were there to show support to the Jardine Ambassadors, students and the patients. The crowd was delighted with great fun playing games and singing.
The crowd then headed for the beautiful West Dam and had a late lunch at a famous seafood restaurant in Sai Kung.
All participants appreciated the efforts the Jardine Ambassadors have put into the activity.
Well done ambassadors!
