Guideline
Background
The Jardine Matheson Group has long been a significant contributor to social welfare causes in Hong Kong through its Jardine Ambassadors Programme.
MINDSET is a registered charitable organization founded in 2002 by the Jardine Matheson Group with the purpose of making a difference in the area of mental health. Led by the Jardine Ambassadors, MINDSET channels the Group's philanthropic activities towards supporting mental health-related organizations and projects. MINDSET aims to change people's attitudes by raising awareness and understanding of mental health issues, as well as providing direct assistance for individuals, families and organizations in need of help.
Objective
To fund projects related to the promotion of mental health.
Terms & Conditions of Funding
Submission of Applications
Any non-profit making organizations registered in Hong Kong or Mainland China which are providing direct or indirect services to enhance the mental health of the community are eligible to apply for funding.
Proposals and all relevant materials should be submitted to MINDSET's registered office at 25th Floor, Devon House, Taikoo Place, 979 King's Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong.
Applications Assessment Criteria
- Start-up projects will be given a priority;
- Projects that involve other Corporate sponsors will have low priority;
- The funds applied to a single project should not exceed HK$500,000 per annum;
- Funding period for any single project shall be a maximum of three years;
- Relevant projects will be selected based on
- Number of beneficiaries/participants
- Track record of the NGO
- Sound work plan
- Effective evaluation
- Availability of similar projects in the community
Information/materials to be included when submitting the project proposal:
- Report(s), pamphlet(s) or other printed materials to introduce the applicant organization and related activities.
- Copy of letter issued by Inland Revenue Department of HKSAR.
- Name (if any), nature and purpose of the project (state how this project will meet the aim of MINDSET).
- Details of implementation.
- Target group and anticipated number of participants/beneficiaries.
- Work plan, timetable, estimated results and evaluation process.
- Detailed budget breakdown.
- Role of the applicant in organizing the project.
- Possible involvement of Jardine Ambassadors.
- Details of other co-organizing/assisting bodies.
- Other sources of funds for this project.
- Estimated revenues generated from the project (if any).
- Publicity/acknowledgement for MINDSET.
Approving Authority
MINDSET Fund Allocation Sub-Committee will assess and approve the applications. Processing time will be around three months.
Approval of Allocation
Applicants will be informed in writing as to whether their applications have been approved in full or in part.
Obligations of Successful Applicant
- Any alteration to the objectives and/or work plan of the project must be approved by MINDSET. Otherwise, MINDSET reserves the right to terminate funding of the project.
- Acknowledgement of MINDSET in all related publicity.
- Where applicable, quarterly progress and financial reports are required for the MINDSET Fund Allocation Sub-committee's review. MINDSET reserves the right to access relevant financial information if required.
- A final evaluation report on the project and statement of accounts must be submitted to MINDSET within one month of the completion of the project.
- Publications or publicity materials produced for the project must be submitted to MINDSET and MINDSET has the right to publish results, findings and any relevant information of the project.
- Any other condition(s) deemed necessary by MINDSET Fund Allocation Sub Committee.
Payment of Grant
- Funds will be disbursed in one lump sum/by instalment.
- Any funds left unused should revert to MINDSET and MINDSET should be informed of any major changes in the budget.
